OF BLOOD : On Hallowed Ground
A feathers touch to your cheek,I know you cannot feel this.
But I can feel you.....
The faintest breath upon your tongue, I know you cannot taste it.
But I can taste you.
The smallest glint in your eye, I know you cannot see it.
But I see you.
The weakest whisper to your ear, I know you cannot hear it.
But I can hear you...
The sweetest scent that surrounds you, I know you cannot smell it.
But I can smell you....
The slightest beat of your heart, I know you cannot feel it.
But I am with you....
Always with you......
The trees bent and swayed to the cold high winds of Devils Nest, the moon full and bright in the midnight sky, lighting up the valley that lay before it. The steep hills forming a confusing nest of cedar, cotton woods and oak. Low plum bushes, Locust trees, and raspberry vines loaded with sharp flesh-tearing thorns provided a painful prison. A woman lay on her side, cradling herself in an endless chill of the night among tall fading grasses and dieing leaves. A small creek trickling beside her.
Her bloody hands tightly grasping her arms trying to stop the chill of the night as shock and confusion set in.
Shadows stood motionless watching contently over her, cold black eyes piercing the darkness as if waiting for a sign to begin. She cried softly, almost too softly to hear for a human, but to them they were ear-piercing screams in the night, arousing them and feeding unknown desires. The smell of the warm blood that the winds carried, danced around them, only to excite them more. For Years, they had waited, for centuries they had hunted, and now the hunt ended here and now, somewhere out there awaited the one that would free them from the darkness, and bring a true nightmare to light.
She cautiously pushed up to her knees and gazed around herself, her heart racing against her chest and blood pounding in her ears. Not knowing how she had got here, or why she was here just confusion and despair. Meanwhile, the eyes that watched her taunted her from the shadows, with hisses and moans. Whispering her name, calling to her, tormenting her, seducing her. Her beautiful face trembled as she searched the shadows with tear-filled eyes for a glimpse of her captures.
Twigs snapped and leaves rustled around her as the hunters circled her with calculated steps, rabid and hungry for that one taste of life they could never hold but could devour and destroy.
"Come to me," one hissed from the dark.
Her head turned sharply as deep laughter echoed from the shadows trees and mingled with the howl of the winds.
Crouching down in the shadows they watched her unblinking. One leaped from nowhere, landed a few feet from her, and crouched down. Cocking his head to the side he smiled slyly and his eyes glinted in excitement as her pounding heart wailed in his ears, calling to him. Her head jerked around following the noises around her as her blood pulsed harder and harder through her veins. She took a shuddering breath and nervously gazed around herself when she was brutally slammed face down to the ground and left lying; shaking from the pain, long scratches ripped through her white nightgown and blood began to soak through and turn it red.
She cried out pitifully as blood ran down forehead to her pale cheek and dripped to the ground. Her hands shook as she tried to get up, only to have her long black hair grabbed violently and yanking her head back. Fingernails ripping the tender flesh of her ribs and breasts as she was pulled to her knees and body bent awkwardly backwards.
Then horrific sharp pain shooting through her breast as teeth punctured through the tender flesh. She gasped deeply and her hands grasped at his shirt trying to pull him away. His arms gripping tightly around her back as he fed, his hands prodding her back so hard she could not breathe as he sucked violently upon her flesh. Her head held tightly back she gasped and pitifully cried out unable to stop it. Another grabbing her hair, exposing her throat as his handsome face and black eyes wickedly smiled down at her.
"Are you ready for me, Angel," he asked so sultry as she trembled in his hands.
